When I started out covering Something I Can Never Have it was a bit of a challenge. First off, Trent Reznor is definitely one of my biggest influences and secondly I wanted to do it justice without making it sound exactly like the original. So I decided to do an instrumental version of the song and include a bit of Synthwave styling with an industrial edge. I toyed with vocals but in the end, but I was never going to be able to match the intensity of the original track so I decided to just do my own thing. I love how it turned out and if you do too please share it around. This will likely be part of a larger more conceptual release in early 2018.
